I've wanted to have a go at a 'Book shelf' quilt since I saw one in a Modern Quilt book by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr, so when I remembered (eventually) that I had committed to entering a quilt challenge at my local quilt shop I just knew the time had come to give it a go.
The challenge was to make a quilt which simply had to use one of two free fabric FQ's. There are two themes this year ' traditional' and 'modern' and I was dying to get my hands on the Moda Authentic range under the 'modern' category.
I adore these fabrics - there is something that should be intrinsically wrong about beige, black, white and lime-green mixed together. If I were to pick colours out of the sky these would not be my colours of choice, but THEY WORK.
I am loving my book case - there is one more shelf to go and it will be complete. There is something missing that I can't quite put my finger on so I'm going to leave it for the weekend, spend some quality time with dear hubby and doggie and come back to it, fresh next week.
What do you think I should call it, I'm thinking of something literary or a play-on-words ...
any ideas ?????

Looks great Caroline.... Never seen these before. Love the colours you've used.
Name: Shhhh Quiet Please !
Love the colors. I'm making stacks of books for a client now in about 20 different colors to hang over a queen size bead. Glad you've enjoyed the pattern.
Your quilt is wondeful - wish I'd remembered a bookcase for my librarian friend! As to names, I can't think of anything clever.
